Pakistan has stepped up its activities along the Line of Control (LoC) amid tension with China over the LAC in eastern Ladakh. Pakistan has deployed a large number of troops on the LoC in the PoK area adjoining Poonch. Additional battalions have been deployed at many places including Kotli, Rawalakot, Vimbhar, Bagh, Muzaffarabad in PoK. Pakistan has attempted to double its strength in areas adjacent to the LoC.
According to sources, after the Galvan Valley incident, Pakistan has deployed 28 PR (Pakistan Regiment) and 40 RTs along with its three brigades deployed in Kotli, PoK. Apart from this, 9 PRs with 2 brigades deployed in Rawalakot, 15 light infantry with 4 brigades deployed in Vimbhar. 22 PR and 10 NLI (Northern Light Infantry) with 6 Brigade deployed at Bagh, 21 Sindh Regiment with 5 Brigade deployed at Bagh itself.
Similarly, 35 PRs with one brigade deployed at Dommel, Muzaffarabad, 72 batters of 21 with AK brigade deployed at Jari Kas of Muzaffarabad and 72 brigades with 80 brigades deployed at Siachen. It is said that there was a deployment of PR on the Iran border, which has been shifted from there to POK. All this exercise has been done to put pressure on the LOC, taking advantage of the situation on the LAC.
