Pakistan Claims: Army shoots down 10th Indian quad copter this year Featured

  26 July 2020

Pakistan Army on Sunday shot down another Indian spying quadcopter that intruded into the country’s airspace along the Line of Control (LoC), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

"#PakistanArmy troops shot down an Indian spying #quadcopter in Pandu Sector along LOC," DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said in a tweet. The quadcopter had intruded 200 metres on Pakistan’s side of the LoC which was the 10th Indian quadcopter shot down by the Army in 2020.In June, two Indian quadcopters were brought down by the Army near the LoC as they intruded Pakistan's airspace.

In May, two Indian drones were brought down in the Rakhchikri Sector and Nekrun Sector of the heavily militarised zone after it intruded into the Pakistani territory.

Indian ceasefire violations along LoC have witnessed a surge since the abrogation of the constitutional status of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K) in August last year.

Last month, DG ISPR Major General Iftikhar had warned that India was planning a false flag operation against Pakistan and the results of any misadventure would be “beyond anyone’s control” and would be responded with full force. He had also said that the situation along LoC is worrisome and India had violated the ceasefire agreement many times during recent times.
