Jemima Goldsmith, the former wife of PM Imran Khan, is responding to PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif's anti-semitic remarks. Jemima was addressing the recent comments made by Maryam on how the premier's kids were being "raised in the lap of Jews."
Taking to Twitter, Jemima penned, "My kids are “being raised in the lap of the Jews,” announced Maryam Nawaz Sharif today." She went on to add, "I left Pakistan in 2004 after a decade of anti-semitic attacks by the media and politicians (weekly death threats and protests outside my house). But still, it continues."
The PML-N leader has now responded to Jemima. Taking to the same platform, Maryam said, "I have absolutely no interest in you, your sons or your personal lives because I have better things to do and say but if your ex drags in families of others out of spite, others will have nastier things to say. You have only your ex to blame."
It all began when PML-N leader mentioned PM Imran's children in a recent address at a rally. Maryam was responding to the PM's remarks about the former's son's recent polo match.
In June this year, news of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif attending grandson's polo match. Junaid Safdar was playing the annual Oxford versus Cambridge Varsity Match from the latter's team. Talking about the same, PM Imran took a jibe at the PML-N President and commented, "The weaker segments of society are jailed and the powerful get an NRO and go abroad and watch their grandson play polo. You need a lot of money to have a horse and to play polo," he said, adding: "Where do you think the grandson got the money? It is your money!"
Maryam then took an even lower jibe at PM Imran, as she delved into an anti-semitic tirade. "I didn’t want to bring children into it, but the way you’re talking, you’re going to get a befitting reply." She had added, "He’s Nawaz Sharif’s grandson, not Goldsmith’s. He’s Nawaz Sharif’s grandson, he’s not being raised in the lap of Jews."
