  13 January 2025

Iran's army has acquired thousands of new unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with a range exceeding 2,000 kilometers.

Tehran is preparing for escalating tensions with Israel and the United States, Reuters reports.The drones have been deployed to various locations across Iran. According to local media, the UAVs reportedly:

・have a flight range exceeding 2,000 kilometers;

・possess high destructive power;

・are capable of autonomous flight;

・can penetrate fortified structures;

・feature high stealth capabilities.

Reuters adds that earlier this month,Iran also began two-month-long military exercises, which include practicing the defense of key nuclear facilities in Natanz against simulated missile and drone attacks.

Relations between Iran, Israel, and the USA

Iran and Israel have a deep-rooted conflict due to political, religious, and ideological differences. Since the Islamic Revolution of 1979, Tehran has openly condemned Israel's existence and has supported Palestinian groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.

Relations between Iran and the United States are also strained. Washington has imposed numerous sanctions on Tehran over its nuclear ambitions, human rights violations, and support for terrorism.

Meanwhile, the US Special Representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, recently called on the world to return to a policy of "maximum pressure" on Iran.
