But unfortunately, she has had more misses than hits on the red carpet recently. Sajal was recently in Dubai for the Distinctive International Arab Festival Awards (DIAFA), sporting a look that turned heads indeed but not in a good way.

Clad in an ill-fitted, oversized velvet pantsuit, the starlet failed to impress and her hair and makeup didn't really help either. A side-parted bun, soft makeup and a shiny manicure (is this 2010?) also made it worse.
The power of a well-fitted suit:
Let's take cues from actors such as Dakota Johnson and Kareena Kapoor Khan, who have donned black pantsuits previously. The actors' suits were articulately fitted, showing off their toned physiques and inner power. Sajal's pantsuit wasn't just oversized - it hung over her body!
The much-needed dark pout
For many, a black outfit and red lips can work wonders! (Hello, Angie!) And since, Sajal's outfit was rather basic, the only way to oomph it up could be with the makeup. A dark red wine lip or any other dark shade could have gone a long way. With softer eyes as she had at the ceremony, a red pout would have worked very well.
Ruffle it up!
Side-parted buns are so 2008! Instead, beach waves or loose curls are the go-to trends now! Priyanka Chopra opted for beach waves while in a sultry white silk pantsuit with a dark pout at the Grammys after party and seemed to have nailed the brief. Similarly, instead of a tied-up hairdo, trying for a messier look would have been more apt.
Gowns, gowns and gowns
The safest, as well as the most glamourous option for a red carpet, would always be the coveted gown! Mahira Khan, earlier this year, walked the same red carpet in Dubai, looking breathtaking in an icy blue Labourjoisie gown. The heavily embellished number was stunning and Mahira's styling for the night was on point. With details over the blouse, an elaborate skirt and a cape, the Raees star ticked all the boxes that day. With sleek hair and minimal makeup, Mahira kept it simple and let the dress do the talking.
Sajal, instead of the notorious pantsuit, should have opted for a gorgeous gown, we’d say. The actor donned an ivory Nomi Ansari one at the 2016 Hum Style Awards and was a sight to behold! We would have loved to see something similar at DIAFA as well.
With someone as ravishing as Sajal, we just hoped for a better on carpet look. Will the person who styled her for the big night please stand up?
