  17 मार्च 2024

Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra: Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and other key leaders of the INDIA bloc are set to hold a mega Opposition rally in Mumbai's Shivaji Park today. This rally will mark the conclusion of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which was kick-started by the Wayanad MP from strife-torn Manipur on January 14.

Several leaders of the INDIA bloc, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, RJD leader and former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, will be participating in the event.

As per a report in the news agency PTI, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj, CPI general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah, Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren, and former CM Hemant Soren's wife Kalpana Soren will also take part in the rally.

Rahul Gandhi on Saturday terminated his 63-day-long ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ after paying tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar at his memorial Chaityabhoomi in central Mumbai. He also read the Preamble of the Constitution.

The Opposition meeting today will jump-start its Lok Sabha poll campaign a day after the top poll panel announced the schedule of the forthcoming polls. The election will take place in seven phases, which will begin on April 19. The voting will conclude on June 1 and the results will be declared on June 4.

Rahul Gandhi will hold 'Nyay Sankalp Padyatra' from Mani Bhavan to August Kranti Maidan ahead of the Opposition meeting on Sunday. Mani Bhavan was the home of Mahatma Gandhi whenever he was in Mumbai, while the Congress was founded on December 28, 1885, at the Tejpal Hall.
