IPL 2021 Auctions: Aussie Stars and Domestic Heavyweights in Fray; Check Out Full List Featured

With franchises done with their retention, everyone in the cricketing circles are eagerly awaiting the IPL 2021 mini auctions which is slated to take place on February 18.

Some of the big Aussie cricketers including Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith and Aaron Finch have been released from their respective franchses and the fans would like to see what happens to these cricketers as their IPL career seems to be on the line for the moment.

Also, the BBL(Big Bash League) is underway and the teams would want to acquire some of the players who have a fair run in the tournament so far. These include the likes of Josh Inglis, Jake Weatherald and Craig Mcdermott. Also the focus is bound to be on some of the Indian players who were released: Piyush Chawla, Umesh Yadav and Parthiv Patel. Here are the players who will go into the auction pool:

IPL 2021 Auction To Take Place In Chennai On February 18

The much-awaited auction of the IPL 2021 is all set to take place in Chennai on February 18. The IPL franchises released a few players from their teams last week which included some big names like Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Harbhajan Singh, and many more. With a huge number of renowed players in the auction, it will be one of the most exciting auctions in the history of the tournament. The bidding war between the teams for securing the big names in their teams will be interesting.
 

Sunrisers Hyderabad have retained the highest number of players-22- while Royal Challengers Bangalore have 14 players in their squad, they retained Harshal Patel and Daniel Sams from Delhi Capitals. Kings XI Punjab will be having the biggest purse ahead of the auction with INR 53.20 crores. RCB has the second biggest purse with INR 10.75 crores.

After Steve Smith’s release, Sanju Samson will be leading Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021. RR will be looking to fill their three overseas slots and have a purse remaining of INR 34.85 crores. KXIP will also be filling their five overseas spots while RCB and Mumbai Indians can also take up four foreign players each. The auction is expected to be completed in just one day.
