New Zealand were 101 for two wickets in 49 overs at the end of the third day play of the World Test Championship final at the Hampshire Bowl on Sunday after openers Tom Latham and Devon Conway gave a solid start.

The day ended prematurely when dark clouds covered the Hampshire Bowl, making the visibility poor for play.Conway scored half-century but fell to Ishant Sharma soon after on 54 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin had earlier sent Latham back to pavilion for 30 runs.

At close, captain Kane Williamson was batting on 12 (37 balls, 1x4). Devon Conway (54, 153 balls, 6x4s) was out just moments before the umpires decided that the light was not good enough for batsmen to carry on. Ross Taylor was yet to open his account after facing two balls.

Earlier, India were all out soon after the lunch interval. Ajinkya Rahane ended up as the top scorer with 49 (117 balls, 5x4s) while captain Virat Kohli scored 44 (132 balls, 1x4) and Rohit Sharma made 34 (68 balls, 6x4s).

For New Zealand, fast bowler Kyle Jamieson captured his fifth five-wicket innings haul, in his eighth Test, for 31 runs in 22 overs. His superb analysis included 12 maiden overs and the wickets of Kohli, Sharma, and Rishabh Pant (4).

Left-arm speedsters Neil Wagner and Trent Boult bagged two wickets each. The first day's play was washed out while second day's play ended early due to bad light.
