Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust and Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust have constituted an inter-ministerial committee to investigate the violation of various legal provisions of PMLA, Income Tax Act and FCRA.

A total of three trusts belonging to the Gandhi family will be examined, including the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust and the Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust. These trusts are alleged to have violated the rules. There are also allegations of breaking the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and Income Tax rules.

This information has been given by a spokesperson of the Ministry of Home Affairs by tweeting that the Union Home Ministry has constituted an Inter-Ministry Committee, which is the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust and Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust will investigate. In this investigation, violation of the rules of PMAA Act, Income Tax Act, FCRA Act will be investigated. The committee will be headed by the Special Director of ED.

Significantly, the Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda alleged that the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation used to get funding from China, apart from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund which was created for the country, the UPA government also gave money to the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation. . BJP alleged that from 2005 to 2008, the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation received this amount from PMNRF.
