  14 जुलाई 2024

The INDIA bloc’s significant victory in the July 10 assembly by-elections reflects the citizens' desire to "destroy dictatorship and establish the rule of justice," claimed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday.

Targeting the BJP, Rahul Gandhi stated that the results demonstrate the breaking of the "web of fear and confusion" woven by the ruling party.

The by-elections, held across 13 seats in seven states on July 10, had their votes counted on Saturday. The INDIA bloc parties secured 10 assembly seats, while the BJP won only two and one seat went to an Independent candidate.

"The results of the bye-elections in seven states have made it clear that the web of fear and confusion woven by the BJP has been broken," Rahul Gandhi wrote on his official X handle. He added that various societal groups, including farmers, youth, labourers, businessmen and employed people, seek to "destroy dictatorship".

Meanwhile, other senior Congress leaders also hailed the INDIA bloc’s triumph, attributing the BJP’s poor performance to its "arrogance, misgovernance and negative politics." Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge described the results as "strong evidence of the falling political credibility" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He also stated that the public is now supporting the INDIA bloc for the betterment of their lives and the protection of the Constitution.
