Congress will go to Election Commission today for Rajya Sabha elections Featured

  12 June 2020

New Delhi. Before the Rajya Sabha elections, the Congress will file a complaint with the Election Commission today, alleging misuse of power by the Bharatiya Janata Party.

According to party sources, at 4 pm today, a Congress delegation will meet the Election Commission and put forward matters related to Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan.

Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi told the media that the Congress is scheduled to meet the Election Commission officials at 4 pm on the issue of Gujarat legislators. Where the BJP wants, the entire Rajya Sabha election process has been corrupted. The BJP is using the police, agencies to turn a majority in its favor.

He accused the BJP of killing democracy and said that BJP is making all possible manipulations. This is against the basic principles of the Constitution and from what is happening the 10th schedule has become a joke.

He said that so far 9 MLAs have been under pressure in Gujarat. Elections are going to be held in four seats in Gujarat, in which BJP and Congress would win two seats each, but BJP is misusing power to win 3 seats.

Singhvi said that a Congress MLA from Gujarat was summoned on 8 June in a case in which he was kept in custody for hours of questioning and again on 9 June, on the same modus operandi. I went. The MLA has no criminal background, this is a very old case.

He said that today we will put all matters before the Election Commission. We will tell the Election Commission how the BJP is trying to influence the Rajya Sabha elections by misusing power.
