GHMC Election Results 2020 LATEST Updates: Telangana minister KT Rama Rao on Friday spoke to reporters as the counting of votes cast in the GHMC polls was underway.

"I thank people of Hyderabad who chose TRS as the single largest party to represent them in Council. Result is certainly not what we expected, we're short of 20-25 seats. We lost about 10-12 divisions with extremely narrow margin," he said.

The results of 132 of a total of150 seats has been declared as of 7.15 pm on Friday. The party-wise tally is as follows: TRS wins 53, BJP wins 35, AIMIM wins 42 and Congress wins 2, reports said.Reports said that with results of 100 out of 150 wards being declared, the TRS has gained a lead again with a win in 42 wards. Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM has reportedly pulled ahead of the TRS in the GHMC polls as of 4.40 pm, The Indian Express reported. With results for 83 of 150 seats reportedly being declared, the TRS has won 31, AIMIM 32, BJP 18 and Congress 2, The Times of India reported.

As the counting in the GHMC election is underway, reports said that the TRS has won 11 seats and is leading in 57. Meanwhile, The Indian Express reported that the AIMIM has won in 10 seats and is leading in 33.

Additionally, the BJP has won one and is leading in 36. "Results for 23 of 150 seats declared," the IE report said.

Asaduddin Owaisi's party AIMIM is set to win the Barkas, Riyasat nagar, Nawabsaheb Kunta, Ramnaspura, and Doodhbowli seats, The Hindu reported. The report added that the ruling TRS is leading in RC Puram and Chintal seats.

Towards the end of second round of vote counting on Friday, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) further broadened its lead in 64 seats, according to media reports.As per the latest trends, the TRS is leading in 57 of the 150 seats. Followed by the Asaduddin Owais' AIMIM, BJP and Congress in 31, 22 and two divisions respectively.With no official figures declared so far, news websites are giving both the BJP and the ruling TRS leads.The High Court order keeping aside the SEC circular is unlikely to impact counting, on the premise that such ballots would be too few, said officials.

The results of Hyderabad civic polls, which will be declared by tonight, will determine the fate of 1,122 candidates in 150 divisions.As many as 8,152 personnel, and 31 counting observers were deployed on Friday. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) could only secure four seats, the Congress won two seats and the TDP won one seat.This election is of utmost importance as it will set the stage for the 2023 Assembly elections.The BJP, recognising this fact, sent big names, including Union home minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and Union minister Smriti Irani to campaign for votes.Shah, assuring development for the city if the BJP is voted in, vowed to free Greater Hyderabad from "Nizam culture".The TRS campaign was led by party working president and state Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao, while party president and Chief Minister KCR addressed a campaign public meeting.

Ahead of the counting, KCR exuded confidence about his party's chances.
