2015 IAS topper lodges complaint against 10 fake Facebook accounts Featured

  27 August 2020

Dabi, who is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad, Ganganagar, has lodged a report with the Ganganagar police against the fake IDs in her name operating on Facebook

Teena Dabi, the Rajasthan cadre IAS officer, who topped the civil services examination in 2015, is a much-harassed person today. There are at least 10 fake pages on Facebook in her name and they are used for giving tips to civil services aspirants. Dabi, who is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad, Ganganagar, has lodged a report with the Ganganagar police against the fake IDs in her name operating on Facebook.

Dabi, in her complaint to the police, said that these IDs have been created by unknown persons and that they carry her photographs. These Ids were being used for giving tips to civil service aspirants and reportedly told people how she succeeded in the civil services examination in 2015, she added. It has been learnt that the IDs are also used for political messaging.

The Ganganagar Kotwali police station, where the complaint has been lodged, has started an investigation after booking a case under the IT Act. The police are trying to track the operators of the fake accounts. The state police cyber branch is also involved in the investigation.

Dabi is the first Dalit to top the civil services examination. She was born in Bhopal and had her initial schooling there before moving to Delhi. She graduated from Delhi University. Her parents are central government employees and while her mother is from the Indian Engineering services, her father is from the Indian Economic Service. She made it to the IAS in her first attempt. Dabi married another IAS officer, Athar Amir Khan, a Kashmiri who interestingly stood second after Dabi in the civil services examination. Both of them got Rajasthan cadre.

Dabi is known as an efficient officer and she did a grand job during the Coronavirus crisis when she was posted as an officer in Bhilwara. She was part of the Bhilwara plan to combat the spread of the virus which became a model followed by several states.
